Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines Mineral Show 2022 — June in Alsace
Share

Every year in the last week of June, the small Alsatian town of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines becomes one of the most important gathering points for fossil and mineral collectors in the world. One of the top three mineral shows globally, it draws dealers, curators, and enthusiasts from across continents — and The Brothers' Stones booth has always been one of the places that makes people stop. In 2022, we arrived with a strong and varied selection of fossil specimens. The booth was spacious, and the display spoke across geological eras from every angle: plesiosaur vertebrae arranged in a long arc, lying quietly across the table; fish fossil plates and ammonites grouped nearby; and inside the cabinet, a collection of three-dimensionally preserved fossil crabs, lined up in careful order — each one looking as though it had just been lifted from an ancient seafloor. The atmosphere of the whole booth sat somewhere between a museum and a private collection. Thank you to everyone who came through and spent time with us. Encounters at Sainte-Marie always feel particular — being able to talk with people who truly know fossils is one of the reasons we keep coming back.
