Collection: Garnet var. Grossular from Civrari
Civrari Mountain, near Condove in Piedmont’s Val di Susa, is a rodingite-hosted mineral locality. Its grossular runs wine-red to deep reddish-brown, in dense, finely faceted rhombic dodecahedra paired with silvery-green clinochlore flakes. Compared with the brighter orange-reds of nearby localities, Civrari’s color is more subdued and composed.
