霰石晶洞一對

在托斯卡尼的上瓦爾達諾河谷（Upper Valdarno），利瓦內（Levane）附近的沉積層中，藏著一種極具辨識度的迷你晶洞狀結核——尺寸通常僅約一至五公分。薄薄的碳酸鹽外殼包裹著中空腔體，細針般的霰石（Aragonite）自內壁向空腔伸展，無色通透、閃耀如霜，如霜結般覆滿整個洞壁。
霰石與錳白雲石共生，是利瓦內最具代表性的礦物組合之一，讓 Levane 成為十分獨特的經典產地；這件標本則單純呈現霰石本身純淨的針狀晶形，不見錳白雲石的蹤影。
一九九四年，《The Mineralogical Record》曾以專文〈Minerals of the Upper Arno River Valley, Tuscany, Italy〉記錄這一地區的礦物產出。標本尺寸雖小，卻完整保留了上瓦爾達諾沉積環境中特殊的礦物生成樣貌。
