Collection: Bosnian Smoky Quartz

Near Busovača in central Bosnia, the Zagradski Potok Mine rose to mineralogical fame in 1953 with the discovery of a quartz vein, and remains the classic locality for the rare feldspar hyalophane. The smoky quartz found alongside it is richly saturated, ranging from amber-brown to deep smoky gray, with excellent clarity and sharply defined faces. Some specimens grow in parallel groups or interlocking clusters, showing the full crystalline presence typical of this Balkan vein system.
