San Jorge Mines (Grupo Minero San Jorge) in the Portmán area of Murcia, Spain, is one of the Iberian Peninsula’s most representative barite localities. Its barite is known for translucent tabular crystals in ice-blue to grayish-blue tones, sharply faceted and often stacked in overlapping groups, with a clear, glassy luster.
