這顆紫水晶（Amethyst）標本來自義大利薩丁島的Capurru Quarry。

產地：Capurru Quarry, Osilo, Sassari Province, Sardinia, Italy（義大利）
尺寸：82*65*57mm/ 最大晶體20mm

薩丁島紫水晶多生長於母岩表面或凹陷空腔之中，少見大型晶體。晶體呈淡紫至紫羅蘭色，透明度高，常附著於覆蓋方解石的白色或淡黃色母岩之上，形成鮮明的視覺對比。

其中帶有骸晶紋理或開窗結構的紫水晶（市場上常稱為「骸骨水晶」），更是薩丁島紫水晶最具辨識度的特色之一。

【義大利薩丁島礦區現況】
義大利薩丁尼亞島是義大利第二大區，該區礦區已全數關閉，不再進行任何商業與工業開採。薩丁島悠久的開採紀錄可追溯住西元前6000年，Iglesias的San Giovanni礦場在早年為重要的鉛、鋅、鋇礦場，該地區的大部分礦化作用可能都源自於寒武紀沉積碳酸鹽灰岩。1952年，在豎井挖掘工作中發現了一個大型橢圓形洞穴，被命名為聖巴巴拉洞穴（Santa Barbara cave），其洞壁完全由重晶石、霰石和方解石組成，如今成為了薩丁島礦物觀光不可錯過的必訪之地。San Giovanni礦區現在已成為丁尼亞島地質礦物、歷史和環境公園的一部分，並被聯合國教科文組織（UNESCO）列入世界遺產名錄。
